How to participate

The projects or initiatives will be evaluated bearing in mind:

  • Whether they meet the criteria, scalability, continuity, replicability, extent, governance, innovation, sustainability, legitimacy, impact and efficacy, promotion of the circular bioeconomy, applied research, as well as the methodological coherence of the proposal.

The points considered mandatory in the projects submitted are:

  • The requesting institution’s previous experience and technical capabilities for the scope and topic submitted;
  • Indication of the main sources of funds for its projects over the last three years;
  • A breakdown of the problem to be addressed in the Amazon Biome;
  • Objectives, changes that the project will bring about*, activities and expected results;
  • Key indicators of the impact and results of the project/initiative;
  • Project budget compatible with the activities proposed;
  • Project execution schedule;
  • If the institution has an Annual Report, this should be attached.

(*) In the case of research projects, provide evidence of the methodology.

In the analysis of the projects, the desirable assumptions are:

  • It will be mandatory for the projects to comply with the pillars and their objectives;
  • Sustainable development of the Amazon Biome, including forest conservation and restoration;
  • Promoting employment and income for sustainable economic development, entrepreneurship and the use of technologies;
  • Support for regional communities;
  • Promoting added value in the use of natural resources;
  • Encouraging children, adolescents and/or young people to remain at school, while fostering gender equality and empowerment;
  • Promoting innovation, applied science and sustainable development.

Additional information:

  • Any institution or company can submit projects requesting support from the JBS Fund for the Amazon, provided they have a current Brazilian corporate tax number (CNPJ) (or equivalent in the case of international companies);
  • Each institution or company may submit up to three projects a year;
  • A group of companies or institutions may submit a joint project. In this case, one of the institutions must take overall responsibility;
  • The maximum period for projects or initiatives submitted is up to three years. There is no restriction on the minimum period;
  • Projects will be approved in a continuous flow process, therefore, there is no submission deadline.
